Asmi is a Toronto-based Cinematographer with a strong foundation in the Canadian broadcast industry and a decorated background in European narrative filmmaking. Before pursuing her love for the camera, she worked over decade in Toronto as an Editor and Series Producer for MuchMusic and the Canadian Broadcasting Center (CBC).

Now, a graduate of the MA program in Cinematography from FAMU in Prague, Asmi’s work has been recognized by festivals such as EnergaCAMERIMAGE, earning a Golden Tadpole nomination for “Trust Game”, a 16mm short film she shot in her first year of studies. Moreover, her collaboration with Ukranian Director Mariia Felenko was also chosen at Camerimage in the Talent Demo showcase and will screen in the festival in 2026. She was also chosen from her school to train under DOP Sturla Brandth Grøvlen on Thomas Vinterberg’s epic series, “Family Like Ours.”

Asmi’s films continue to screen on the international festival circuit, with recent selections and nominations at Sarajevo Film Festival, Evolution Mallorca International Film Festival, Ethereal Horror Fest and Un Festival Trop Court!

In 2025, Asmi was also invited to join Canadian Society of Cinematographers as an Associate Member.

She is currently based in Toronto.
