ABOUT
Asmi Chandola is a Toronto-based cinematographer with a strong foundation in the Canadian broadcast industry and a decorated background in European narrative filmmaking. Before pursuing her love for the camera, she worked for over a decade in Toronto as an Editor and Series Producer for industry leaders like MuchMusic and CBC.
A graduate of the prestigious MA in Cinematography program at FAMU in Prague (November 2024), Asmi’s work has been recognized twice by the EnergaCAMERIMAGE Film Festival, earning a Golden Tadpole nomination for “Trust Game” (2022) and a Talent Demo selection for “Unexpressed” (2024). She honed her skills on set as a camera trainee for celebrated DOP Sturla Brandth Grøvlen on Thomas Vinterberg’s epic series, “Family Like Ours.” Her films continue to screen on the international festival circuit, with recent 2025 selections at Sarajevo Film Festival, EMIFF, and Festival Tous Courts for her work as both a cinematographer and director.
An Associate Member of the Canadian Society of Cinematographers (CSC), Asmi is now permanently based in Toronto. She is passionate about collaborating with visionary directors to create emotionally resonant and visually distinct narratives across all formats.
