Asmi is a cinematographer whose journey spans continents and formats. Born and raised in India, she made Toronto home in 2006 working as an Editor and later Series Producer for MuchMusic and CBC. Her love for the camera led her to join the MA program for Cinematography at FAMU, Prague in 2020. She has since amassed a diverse portfolio of short films using 16mm, 35mm, Alexas, Reds and Sony cameras. In 2022, she was nominated for a Golden Tadpole at esteemed cinematography film festival EnergaCAMERIMAGE (in Poland) for her short film “Trust Game”. The following year, she was chosen to be Camera trainee under DOP Sturla Brandth Grøvlen on Thomas Vinterberg’s epic mini-series “Family Like Ours”.

She currently lives in Prague.
